Filming opportunity

9th October 2013

A young person who attends Pixelform Studios weekly film club was specially selected to film Thamesmead Town Football Club's home games at Sporting Club Thamesmead.

Fourteen-year-old Farrell Stanlick from Thamesmead who has attended Pixelform's film club for over a year secured the prestigious role because of her camera operating skills and her love for football.

Head of Production at Pixelform Studios, Michael Wearing said: “Thamesmead Town were keen to have more community involvement in the club and using one of our film club members to capture the games was a simple and effective way to do this.”

Farrell said: “I love football and I love filmmaking, I never thought I’d get the opportunity to combine my two passions.”

Farrell’s handy work is used by the manager Keith McMahon to review the team’s performance. Highlights can be seen on Thamesmead Town Football Club's website.

Pixelform Studios Film Club runs 6:30-8:00pm every Thursday during term time and gives young people aged 11-19 the opportunity to use professional standard equipment under the tuition of industry professionals.
