New BTEC Course

Archway Project is playing its part in preparing young people for a career in engineering by offering the Department for Education's approved BTEC Level one Diploma in Engineering.

Archway Project's Operations Manager, Neil Monaghan said: This new vocational training course allows students to learn motorcycle mechanics whilst covering product design and manufacture, welding, cutting, working with raw materials and operating engineering machinery."

The course is designed to be taught one day per week over two years and has three parts; award, certificate and diploma with a total guided learning hour of 330 hours.

Neil continued: "Our learners leave here with the skills and experience necessary to secure employment within the sector or an apprenticeship. This course also offers nationally recognised progression for our learners and the necessary entry requirements to a higher engineering qualification."
