Thamesmead's Got Talent

14th March 2016

We had a great time hosting Thamesmead Youth Voice's Open Mic Night on Saturday.

Twenty-two acts treated an audience of 150 people to a night of music, singing, rapping, dance, gymnastics and poetry, raising more than £300 for BBC Sport Relief.

Solo artist OMO said: “I wasn’t too sure I should actually perform as I wasn’t confident in my own ability – it is only my second time singing. Now I have done it I feel totally overwhelmed. I want to go on and perform more as I enjoyed it so much.”

Conor from Crowded Oceans said: “This is the first time we have ever played live. It was a great experience and the fact we were helping to raise money for charity is a bonus. None of us liked the idea of running 27 marathons so we thought we would perform instead.”

You can watch the acts again or see them for the first time by logging on to BBC Sport Relief's website.

Well done to Thamesmead Youth Voice who did a great job arranging the event.
