Jo studied and achieved a Bsc Honours degree in Sociology and Criminology as well as an Msc in Criminology and Criminal Justice and sees her future working within the youth offending services.
She told us â€œI thought it would be beneficial to gain some first-hand work experience within an environment specifically designed for young people first and I feel The Link Thamesmead will be a brilliant opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skills for my future goals.â€
Prior to this role, Jo spent eight years working in retail, which has provided her with customer service experience and confirmed that she enjoys working with the public.
Outside of work, Jo can be found taking part in aqua Zumba and spinning classes, although her favourite past-time is attending comedy shows whether they are by unknown comedians or popular TV personalities, "as laughter is the best feeling."
Born and educated in Italy, Claudia gained a diploma in accountancy before flying the nest and embarking upon an adventurous life; exploring and navigating the Mediterranean coast, Brazil and London which she said she “Fell in love with” because of its multiculturalism.
It wasn’t just the city she fell in love with but The Link too, for the variety of activities that are offered to the community.
Claudia says she is like The Link in many ways, describing herself as “a versatile person" who has experienced different jobs from working in a busy office to a hostess, a crew member on a yacht and working with neglected, talented and hyperactive children and adults with brain damage.
After completing A levels, Nadia started working for a magazine publisher in the West End, first in customer service and progressing into marketing.
Nadia then ventured into the world of IT, studying computer maintenance alongside working at a local college as an IT Technician. This was followed by training as a Trainee Probation Office with London Probation whilst studying Criminal Justice at the University of Hertfordshire.
"I discovered my passion was working with people in a counselling role and decided to take a few years out of work to studying counselling whilst looking after my daughter. This was followed by seeing an advert for The Link which I applied for and here I am.
"I really enjoy the variety of my work, especially working with Thamesmead Youth Voice. It is good fun and great getting involved with the community.
"As you can probably tell, I like to study, so I am now looking into youth work courses that I can incorporate within my role here.
"The Link is a fantastic place for the community and I am looking forward to watching it develop to its full potential."
