Phase two of The Link Thamesmead opens, seeing Charlton Athletic Community Trust joining us, together with an expansion of Thamesmead Gym.



The Link officially opens on 1 October 2012 as phase one is completed, seeing Archway Project, Bexley Youth ServiceNew Horizons Federation, Thamesmead Gym and Theatre Street Performing Arts opening their doors for the first time as part of The Link Thamesmead.


After months of meetings, construction, design and writing, The Link Thamesmead's website goes live!



Thamesmead Youth Voice join artist, John Pope, in applying murals to the public walk way.


The Link Thamesmead holds its first ever event in and either side of the public walk-way. The day included watersports, music, face painting, the Strongest Man contest run by Thamesmead Gym, a BBQ by Archway Project, football contests by Sporting Club Thamesmead, extensive community consultation by Trust Thamesmead and Thamesmead Youth Voice, as well as tours of The Link Thamesmead which was still under construction.


Two, free-standing, solid timber pods, which serve as the first floors in arches A and B are installed - the construction of which has never been seen before under a flyover.



'The Link Thamesmead' name and branding is revealed after extensive engagement between Trust Thamesmead, Alphabetical Studio and Thamesmead Youth Voice.



Grehan Contractors Limited begins building work at the once-disused arches under the elevated roundabout in Harrow Manor Way.


The Link Thamesmead's parent company, Trust Thamesmead secures £5.65m funding to cover the cost of The Link's building, fixtures and fittings. Grant were kindly awarded by myplace (£5m), Cory Environmental Trust (£150,000) and Trust Thamesmead (£500,000).
